i was telling him, "zander, once you turn 6, there's no turning back, you'll never be 5 again. this is the last day in your life that you'll be 5. so seize this moment, hold it up into the sunshine, throw it into the future, and you'll remember it forever."
but it's so true. something we don't grasp at all when we're young - how quickly it flies away. i think my earliest vivid memories were when i was 4 or 5. i certainly didn't think life would lead to this.
when we're 80, we'll look back at ourselves when we were 40, and maybe we'll think, ah, those were the good old days, when we could walk around without fear of blowing away in the wind.
