If a cowboy hat is part of your regular ensemble, that's a great step forward in my opinion.
By the way, Fantagraphics just published a book collection of Steve Ditko's early horror stories... full color... it's kind of magnificent. All these grotesques and demonic faces, and stories where you almost see nothing but that. He was always one of my favorites but now I think he's much better than I realized.
They use an extraction process like the one in the Fletcher Hanks books, where they retain the color but remove the paper texture... but it looks much better than those books do. The paper has an off-white tone and the image is shrunk down somewhat. Also, they may have just gotten better at it. It's not perfect but I think they're close to setting a new standard for reprints of old time comics. The color is very expressionist, it's good that they were able to preserve it.

yes, cowboy is my new look... people do look at me funny.
does the fantagraphics book recolor the pages, or do they print directly from the old comic book pages?
